I heard it on the local news here in KC, but ESPN hasn't reported it yet. I wanted to give ATOT a heads up. Get someone else for your fantasy team.

why do i think this is a scam for someone to pick up Priest Holmes

edit: ESPN Article

Chiefs spokesman Pete Moris on Wednesday denied a Kansas City television report that Holmes had possibly played his last game for the Chiefs and could announce his retirement as soon as Thursday.

Not saying that this is proof that he isn't retiring tomorrow...just an update.

He should, he has lost a step. Use to be one of the top 3 RB's in the league, now he's barely top 15. Atleast he's got a ring (he needs to thank the Baltimore Raven's for that).

Think what you will. I have him in two leagues, but I only have Larry Johnson in one.

BTW, I want an apology when he announces by Thursday.

I wish I were lying. Believe me. I turned down about a dozen offers for LJ throughout this year... really haunting me now. I'm going to try and trade for him if I can now. ;)

Nope, it was on the local NBC station, kshb, but it's not on their website. I was watching Law & Order: SVU (love that show), and they kept plugging "Breaking news about a KC Chief superstar that's set to retire" from about 25 minutes to the end of the show on. I spent that time praying that Gonzalez was hanging up his hat. :)

Yeah, they mentioned a different story first, then the sports guy came on and explained it. I still can't believe ESPN hasn't reported it yet.

And are we talking end of season or right now in mid season?

I'm in a keeper league..keeping LJ, Lamont Jordan and Marvin Harrison sets me up good for next year.

Thursday is what they said. He'll retire formally by then. They found a bump on his spinal cord and they said that if he took another good hit in the wrong spot, he'd be paralyzed for life.

I would call this proof, but then I realized that you have no way of knowing it's not me. Except that douchebag types in all caps, and that drives me fvcking nuts.

I'd believe this. We all know that you are the one here with your finger on the pulse of the ballet circuit.

This is all the talk in the KC area this morning. Vermeil has stated Priest has seen at least 4 experts but wouldn't comment on his status.

I'd say if you go to 4 doctors hoping for better news, it's a serious issue.

I have LJ on my team, so I'm lucky in that way. However, I thought it was just a concussion that he had, not anything with the spinal cord.
