yea i use online banking to see if my checks clear (deposit and ones ive written) and how much i've charged to CC/DC.
 
so not only did you not realize having +700 in your account you spent it as well?

i dont understand how you went ahead and spent over 700 more and never noticed that the rent money hadnt been deducted.

 
Like RossMAN said "online banking."

I watch the money go in and the money go out in "real time."

No need to balance.


If you get an interest bearing checking account there is no reason to have a savings account, so you can keep a large buffer of money in there just in case.
