The guy I'm trading with someone who has Carson Palmer and Peyton Manning. I'm trying to get palmer from him

He has addai and fred taylor as his only backs and a san diego DST

Here's my situation:

Hasselbeck QB
S. Jackson RB
E. James RB
J. Lewis RB
T. Holt WR
Calvin Johnson WR
R. Moss WR
NE DST
Baltimore DST

I'm tempted to offer him one of my DSTs and a back for palmer to boost my QB numbers and he needs a much bettter 2nd back. Hopefully jackson stops with the suckfest he's been putting up the last two games and gives me some decent numbers. that leaves edgerrin james and jamal lewis. if lewis plays like he did today, he and james would be comparable in numbers so i'd be ok with giving up either one but obviously i'd rather give up lewis since hes more of a gamble.

Soo:

J. Lewis RB or E. James RB
NE DST

for

C. Palmer QB
F. Taylor RB

If he makes it that's a great trade, but he shouldn't becaues Taylor is better than Lewis. But go ahead and offer it, I mean the worst he can do is say no or counter with asking for james or jackson.

do you think it's worth it to give up james. im not expecting palmer to put up epic numbers like he did today but i think he can do better than hasselbeck. but then again, i might end w/ a net neg if lewis/taylor can't pick up teh slack that james leaves.

I have James and I am expecting him to stay solid. I think he will be putting up 10-15 consistently, Taylor probably 5-10. So is it worth about 5 pts to have Palmer over Hasselbeck? Probably. The X factor is the defense, you might get and extra 5 a game by playing the right defensive matchup each week. So is carson worth 10 extra a game? Probably not.

Currently in my league Pats have 28 pts on D over 2 games, Ravens have 24. Both great, but what are you going to do for D once the Ravens are playing the colts? Think about the playoffs later on (if you are doing well right now), you NEED to be able to have a good matchup on D.

So imo, stick it out. Or try and get Lamont Jordan cheap, he's going to keep putting up great numbers.

I'm high on James, I wouldn't give him up for pertty much anything. Maybe if it was straight James for Palmer I would talk but other than that it would be a no go for me.
