YAFFT: Week 6 Q&A Thread

I've got a pretty solid team this week, but I have a toss up at QB. Do I start Aaron Brooks at Minnesota. Minnesota has allow 94 points this season, had only 9 sacks, and has 0 interceptions. I've got Joey Harrington playing against the atrocious GB defense. He hasn't been a high scorer, but there is potential for a breakout week. There is also the possibility that GB will start playing like they did in week 1. The other option, is that Jake Plummer is on waivers. He's playing Oakland, who has allow over 100 points, but has 12 sacks and 4 interceptions.

Cliff notes:

Which QB?
Aaron Brooks vs Min
Joey Harrington vs GB
get Jake Plummer from waivers vs Oak

1 pt per 25yds passing, 6 per rushing or passing TD.

I would start Brooks... Minnesota is going to score early... which is going to force NO to throw ALOT.

Brooks is a huge gamble, the Saints are really inconsistant. Harrington has a good WR, and the Fudgepackers DBs are sucking (like the rest of the team). Plummer is putting up some good fantasy numbers, but then again, he's Jake Plummer (remember the left-handed throw?). Eh, its a tough call. Brooks has somewhat better WRs, so I guess go with him.

I don't see how that would Minny scoring early would force Brooks to throw more early in the game, especially with Deuce McAllister back, they will try to run to establish the run. But yes, I would also go with Brooks as well, but for different reasons: considering that NO has the 9th best passing yardage in the league vs Minnesota's 27th worst Pass D. Also, Minnesota has the 3rd best passing Offense in the league vs NO's 25th ranked Pass D. Factor in Minnesota's 5th best Run D in the league to neutralize Deuce, and we have ourselves a high scoring, aerial shootout!

True, Harrington will throw all day on the 2nd to worst defense in the league (31st), but Detroit is only avging 165 ypg in the air vs New Orlean's 224 (yes that's 59 more). Also, Roy Williams sprained his ankle vs Atlanta last week and is listed as day to day. You know they're not going to pass to him alot this week, because they are going to want to protect him since he's so valuable to the team. My guess is that Detroit will run more than usual vs Green Bay's horrible run D because of this, which will set up the play action for when they do want to go to Roy.

Plummer vs Oakland is probably no better than Harrington vs GB. Denver avg's 131 ypg rushing (NO only 90), and that team likes to run alot. Since they also have the best defense in the league, it will probably be a field goal fest with Denver controlling the ball on the ground, since I don't think they have alot of faith in Plummer. Oakland's pass D is ranked 19th, which means they're a little worse than half of the league so it's a subpar QB passing on an average Defense, it could go either way. Overall, I think Plummer will be scrambling more than passing, and Denver running more since Oakland is ranked 21st in Run D and giving up 114 ypg, Denver will look to control the clock with the run game b/c their D is so dam stingy.

Vinny vs Pit or Palmer @ Cle? (I'm in a 10 team league with a must start 2 QB rule). The only thing left is Quinn, Feely, Simms, and Ramsey 🙁

Different league: Pick 2 of 4 RBs -- A.Green @ Det, Dillon vs Sea, Suggs vs Cincy, Pinner vs GB

You HAVE to play Ahman Green every week. The decision is between Dillon, Suggs and Pinner. Suggs is returning from a neck injury and is splitting time, so Dillon is the way to go... Then again, Dillon sprained his ankle last week and is begininng to bitch about his role in the offense... Pinner? haha, who the hell is he? He is the back up RB for a team who has one rushing TD this season. However, in FF, you always kick a man when he's down and Detroit plays Green Bay this week. Go with Pinner

lol @ Pinner. I originally put pick 2 of 3 and left him off, but I tossed him in the mix b/c he's currently on my bench. Figure if I don't use him now I never will so I'm glad someone else at least considers him, but I'm still leaning slightly towards Dillon although coach gave the TD carry to some dude who's name I can't say for NE last week, doesn't bode well for Dillon. I'll wait and see what Hec and Vic (from ESPN) have to say too 🙂

1. Tough one. Pittsburgh D has been pretty good, against the run and the pass. If Dallas can't get the run going, they may have to pass and VinnyT might put up some halfway decent numbers. The Browns D has been mediocre, but Palmer hasn't done a whole lot either (although he's drawn some tough Ds). I'd go with Vinny T probably, but it could go either way.

2. Go with Green and Dillon. You drafted them high, you may as well use 'em. Suggs is no sure thing and while Pinner may have a good game, he only has last week's numbers to back him up.

Exactly my thoughts, just glad to hear someone confirm it
