YAFFT: Pick Starting Runningbacks

Spooner

Lifer
I have Brian Westbrook as my primary RB

Then I have the choice to start 2 more RB's out of the following:

Julius Jones, DAL
LaMont Jordan, OAK
Adrian Peterson, MIN
Ladell Betts, TEN

Who would you choose and why?

Tough because Jordan is def the starter, but Peterson could get more than a few reps and the Viking's oline is better than Oakland's.

Julius Jones - is a starter, is supposed to get more red zone touches this year. shares time with marion barber who scored 16 touchdowns last year.
LaMont Jordan - I don't like him, and no one likes the Raiders line, but he's the sole back with Dominic Rhodes suspended 4 games.
Adrian Peterson - the most potential in the group, but right now the starting job is chester taylor's
Ladell Betts - relegated to backup/shared time duty with Portis healthy

Tough choice, probably depends on the matchups. I'd say later in the season, Peterson would be the way to go, once he takes the starting job from Taylor...but for now, I'd probably go with Jones or Jordan, depending on the opponent.

edit: I didn't read that you need to start two more. That makes it easier for me to say then...go with Jones and Jordan, later in the season, probably Peterson and Jones/Jordan.

Deek, I'm leaning toward Jones and Jordan for Week1 as well considering Minne is facing off agaisnt Atlanta, who has a great run D

i'd ride jordan the first couple weeks, he's a year removed from a 1500 total yard year.. i think most of last year came from art shell's craptacular system. he's go the first 4 starts to make the case. i'd go with jones next because he'll get you something but is in a time share. betts is a handcuff in my mind.. peterson may erupt but he isnt going to become a solid starter (if he becomes one) until later in the season..

ride jordan then jones until peterson blows up... if he doesnt, dont start him 8)

i'd go the jones/jordan route too.. just based on pure numbers, those two are gonna get more touches than the other two... however, peterson, later in the season, will take over taylor's role and become your #2 back, then you pick between jones/jordon based on matchup.. betts i think is gonna be pretty useless.. i don't forsee portis getting hurt

Yep...Jordan/Jones. Petersen will get some touches, but not nearly as many as these the other two (maybe as many as Jones, but like you said, playing against ATL D). Jordan...the line sucks, but Oak isn't going to throw the ball...so that leaves Jordan to carry the weight.

i agree with most of you guys here, but im salivating over peterson's potential and would hate to miss a big week from him
