YAFFT: Monster Trade

hmmm this is a tough one...

LT >> Jamal
McNair >> Testaverde
mason > smith (or at least should be)

i would say they are pretty even....i like LT though, especially after the browns of all people were able to shut down jamal

LT > Jamal
Mason > Smith
McNair > Testaverde

I still take the LT/Mason/Test side, for QB's are generally less important that a elite RB/WR, depending on the scoring system.

Here's the deal. We have to play 2 QBs. My current QBs: Culpepper, McNair, Palmer. This trade would leave me with Culpepper every week and then alternatve b/t Palmer and Vinny based on matchup. I'm trying to upgrade my RB/WR b/c I'm confident that Palmer will be decent this year and McNair has high trade value.

1 more wrinkle. I want his best QB. They are: Leftwich, Maddox, Vinny. Which one of those would you demand in the trade?

Tough choices, all about even to me. Maybe Leftwich? He has more upside, though you know what you'll get from Vinny.

I say Vinny, you say Leftwich, my buddy swears Maddox....LOL. Welcome to the agony that is Fantasy Football.

I would say Maddox is the best of the 3. Leftwich has potential to be better though. Vinny just flat out licks chode.

I would guess Leftwich -- Vinny and Maddox could both get benched (in favor of Romo/Henson or Roethlisberger) or broken, seeing as they're both on the wrong side of 30. At least Leftwich has a better chance of finishing out the season + has a good receiver to throw to in Jimmy Smith (which isn't to knock the other two QBs' receivers).

I would definitely take LT. Has Jamal Lewis even cleared his charges yet? It'd suck to be stuck with him while he's in a federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison.

Guess it's down to Leftwich or Vinny. Vinny seems like he'll be tossing it quite a bit this year and has 3 solid receivers plus a good TE. He threw for a lot of yards again, just too many INTs this past week.

Trade still open.

Is anyone concerned about

1) Jamal missing time due to legal issues?
2) LT taking himself out of the game last week for jammed/turf toe?

OK, here is how I see it

LT > Jamal - but really they are both marquee #1 backs so we call it even
Derrick Mason > Rod Smith - Rod's getting old but he is returning kicks which may net you some points in some leagues
McNair >>>> Testaverde - Vinny is the king of early in the season. He is also the king of INTs. McNair is last years MVP

Looks like I'm the proud owner of a new RB named LT....had to give up a lot to get him though.

Meh. I made an awesome trade the other day. The league counts off big for incompletions (essentially making QBs worthless), so I traded McNabb to an Eagles fan for Marvin Harrison and slotted in Flutie at QB (since he hardly plays). This week I tripled my points total 🙂
