Ouch. Assuming he stays healthy, Warner is going to average 300+ yards a game. But that's an assumption I'm *really* not going to hold my breath on.

Jackson isn't a bad back, but he's not really a top tier guy either. Ward and Burress aren't bad...but he's no Chad Johnson or Steve Smith.

What pick were you in the first round and who did you take?

6th pick... took Jackson... I could have had Portis, Barber or James... but I'm taking a gamble that this is Jackson's year to shine. I could have made a huge mistake... we'll see...

I've got Warner too, he scares me. Leinart's probably just waiting for Kurt to fumble six times in one game. I've also got Rothlisberger, but I think I'll start Warner until he fails me.

I would have had trouble not taking Portis over Jackson. Even knowing that Portis might miss the first game of the season with a banged up shoulder.

James might have a lot of trouble in AZ. Their OL is very suspect. But, when you have the two receivers that they do on the wings, you have to respect the pass. So that might give him a bit of a buffer. Plus he's a really good after contact runner so that is a plus.

Either way though, that is a bit of a gamble going Jackson over Portis. Curious to see how it works out.

I'm in a keeper league sitting on Larry Johnson, Rudi Johnson, Lamont Jordan, and Marvin Harrison. I'm doing ok on RB's 🙂 I only get to keep three, not sure if it should be Jordan or Harrison.

Read the thread, and obviously yes. His #1 pick was Jackson and no one in their right mind would choose a kicker over Vinateri so he most likely took a K first.

I went with almost all Cowboys hoping this is the year. I got everyone except for Vanderjact. I figure if they suck this year I will hate my life anyways so I might as well live or die cowboys.

I think your team is decent at best, and thats only because of your defense. If the bears D is as good as last year then you have a shot at winning a lot, otherwise you have some solid players and lots of good supporting players but not many stars that are going to get you the stats you need.

As far as Jackson goes, you could have picked him up way later most likely. You very could be right, this might be a big year, but either way he flies under the radar of most fantasy players right now. Are you a rams fan? League head to head?

Neil Rackers went first...

I took Jackson as my first pick, 6th overall. I was the first to pick a defense... which I probably did a round too early... 5th round. I kept missing my targets by like 2-3 picks...

Well if Chicago's D is like last year then you could have picked them in round 1 and it wouldn't have been bad, they held so many people to 3-7 last year. But it does seem you were a little off on the picks. Still, like I said, with that chicage D like last year you will win a lot. if.

If memory serves me right, in my league last year the Chi D was pulling down a pretty consistent 20-25 points a week. That's VERY good. About the only thing better was having a consistent stud RB. Easily could be considered a 2nd round pick even though normal convention does not suggest it.

In that case my nabbing them in the 5th round was a steal....

This league is really tight on the reserves... it's gonna be really tough to do much shuffling..

Good starting RBs but not enough depth at that position, your QBs are bad (Warner's due for an injury around week 3). Weak crop of receivers.

Ronnie Brown will have a breakout year, Frank Gore should get most of the carries. RBs are good. WRs are second tier but pretty good. Qbs aren't great. You'll be 4-5th place in your league, dep. on how well Chicago, Brown, and Jackson perform.

fvck, I forgot to pick a second defense. I guess I'm screwed on their bye week. My roster (same league as doboji):

QB1: Drew Brees - NO
QB2: Philip Rivers - SD
RB1: Reggie Bush - NO
RB2: Thomas Jokes - Chi
RB3: Laurence Maroney - NE
RB4: Chris Perry - Cin
WR1: Chris Johnson - Cin
WR2: Reggie Wayne - Ind
WR3: Deion Branch - NE
WR4: Keyshaun Johnson - Car
WR5: Antwaan Randel El - Wash
TE: Chris Cooley - Wash
K: Joe Nedney - SF
DEF: Indianapolis

You also forgot to draft a RB that doesn't have to share the carries. Bush will alternate with Deuce who will get the end zone possessions. Perry is Rudi Johnson's backup (although a good receiving back). Maroney will start behind Dillion. Jones will share carries with Benson assuming Benson isn't injured 90% of the year.

Are you in a keeper league? Cuz that's going to be a rough team this year. Great outlook a few years down the road. But right now you don't even have a solid starter.

We have to start 2 RBs, so hopefully I can rotate my 4 weekly and get some decent points. This is my first FF draft ever so I'm still in the learning phase.

It's pretty obvious you have no experience with FF. Your QBs are very shakey: Brees tore his shoulder on the last week of the season, Rivers hasn't proved that he can be a starting QB. Your RBs are even worse (as mentioned by vi_edit). your WRs look good. Everything else is okay at best.

pssh, Brees's shoulder is fine and he's got a chip on his shoulder after getting dropped from SD. Break out season for Brees this year.

Here's my team (same league as these guys):

Starters:
QB M. Bulger
WR R. Moss
WR A. Johnson
WR K. McCardell
RB L. Johnson
RB J. Jones
TE J. Witten
W/R C. Benson
K N. Kaeding
DEF Denver

-----

Bench:

QB T. Green
WR J. Porter
RB M. Bell
TE B. Troupe

Flex spot is my only concern, but I figure Benson or Porter will pan out.

Why not, me too...

QB: J. Plummer
WR: Sa. Moss
WR: Ro. Williams
WR: N. Burleson
RB: E. James
RB: C. Williams
TE: T. Gonzalez
W/R: T. Glenn

BN: B. Leftwich
BN: G. Jones
BN: K. Curtis
BN: M. Barber

K: J. Brown
DEF: Pittsburgh

I'm confident in all my starters, but my bench is weak. Barber is a trash pick that I'll drop for K/DEF when I need it unless I get lucky and he gets touches somehow.

Looking through our league, I don't think anyone had a horrible draft or an amazing draft. Even the guy that didn't show up ended up alright (although having the first pick helped).

If chicago can play this good.. I've got a real shot🙂

wow

Well I have to say I made out like a bandit this season:

QB:
D. McNabb
K. Warner

RB:
L. Johnson
S. Jackson
T. Jones

WR:
M. Harrison
D. Jackson
R. Smith
K. Curtis
E. Wilford

TE:
J. Witten
L. Smith

K:
N. Kaeding

Def:
Tampa Bay
Miami

🙂
