My draft is Thursday. From all my research, you need to take your RB's in the first two rounds, with Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer, or Drew Brees in the first couple of rounds if available.

I think my league scoring is biased towards quarterback performance. This is in bold Here is the scoring. I will not know my draft order until right before the draft.

FG - Field Goals 3 points
Plus 2 points for a FG of 50+ Yds
FL - Fumble Lost, Including ST plays -2 points
Pa2P - Passing Two-point Conversion 2 points
PaInt - Passing Interception -2 points
PaTD - Passing TD 6 points
PaYd - Passing Yards 0+ PaYds = 1 point for every 20 PaYds
Re2P - Receiving Two-point Conversion 2 points
ReTD - Receiving TD 6 points
ReYd - Receiving Yards 0+ ReYds = 1 point for every 10 ReYds
Ru2P - Rushing Two-point Conversion 2 points
RuTD - Rushing TD 6 points
RuYd - Rushing Yards 0+ RuYds = 1 point for every 10 RuYds
XP - Extra Points 1 point

Am I correct in thinking this bumps the importance of the QB in the analysis? How much?

Do I draft my QB in the first round, then go with RB and WR? Or just go with conventional wisdom?

Yes. Decent QB's passing for 200 yards and one touchdown will score 16 points. Fairly easy to do, all things considered. Equal quality performance out of a running back would be around 80 yards or so. Which would give someone with 80 yards and 1 td 14 points. Its a minor difference IMO - with RB's in high demand I'd still go with one of them. Although keep in mind. Over a season the top end QB's will hit 4000 yards. Thats 400 points, whereas running backs will be getting 1500 yards for the top end. Thats only 150 points. Big difference, IMO. Still though unless you can get Peyton - I don't think ANY other QB is a shoe-in to get 4k yards. I'd take my chances with a mid 3000 yards performer and quality RBs.

Thanks, anybody else think this scoring system deserves a first round QB pick? Somebody like Brees, Brady, Palmer, in addition to Manning?

I'd still take a RB in the first round, unless you are at the end of the round and can snatch a good RB on the way back...

In a scoring system where the QB points are a little higher than usual, a lot of FF noobs make the mistake of thinking this makes QB's more valuable. That's simply not the case. What matters is not the total points scored by any position player, what matters is the difference between one player at that position and another player at that position. That's what you should go by.

For example, kickers get lots of points, but the difference between the best kicker and the second, third or forth best kicker is generally not very big. When it comes to QB's, regardless of the scoring system, you are going to have to evaluate each time your turn comes up to see what to pick. Your analysis should be something like this:

Lets say you're trying to decide who to pick in the first round. "Manning or Larry Johnson"? If you take Manning, who will you likely end up getting in the second round for a RB? What is the difference between Johnson and the RB you'll get in the second or third round? What's the difference between what you'll get from Manning versus a QB you'll get in the next round? etc.

It's all about the difference in scoring, not how many points they score. As such, you should almost always go RB in the first couple of rounds, depending on what other owners do. If everyone takes a RB in the first round and then in the second round before your pick, then likely the RB's available are not worth a second round pick, and you should evaluate WR's and QB's.
