I usually tend to favor FedEx over the other shipping companies. My mom sent my wife a birthday gift via FedEx ground (insured) and it turns out the idiot FedEx driver gave our package to our neighbors.
I've never met our neighbors before (living in a new apartment complex) so this should be interesting. I've been ringing their doorbell throughout the day but I guess they're not home yet. What's fvcked up about it is that FedEx has always delivered the package to the leasing office. And from my past experience, if they can't deliver it, they would just take it back to the station (which I prefer so I can get it myself)

I just hope that we get the package because it's something personal of my mom's.

/semi rant

Update:

Well just went to the neighbor and they're claiming they never received a package. I called up the 800 number and bitched them out for delivering my package to a complete and total stranger. They said the earliest they can send the driver out is Tuesday since it was ground service. I told him I expect the driver to be held accountable for his incompetence. I guess there?s nothing else I can do for now?
God damn fedex. This was my wife's bday gift and her bday is on Tuesday.

Final Update:

Sorry for the late update but I didn't want to syringer you guys. The Fedex driver actually came to my door on monday night with the package! I tried to ask him what the hell happened to it (meaning where was it) but he could barely speak english. He just kept asking me if I called Fedex. After a few minutes of this, I just thanked him and let him go (Not that I was holding him hostage :D ) All in all, I'm happy that my wife was able to get her birthday gift but I definitely won't be using fedex ground again. It's either going to be their air service or USPS Priority Mail.

Exact same thing happened to me with my 7800GT. Luckily I had nothing to worry about because I live in a small town and I know my neighbors very well. But sometimes people will surprise you..

FedEX kicks arse for passing customs internationally. although they are a bit expensive, they get the package through.

i usually favor fedex as well, but there's always the retard driver that you can't really avoid. i absolutely abhor UPS.

are other companies any better? DHL/airborne...any others?

Purlurtor in Canada is THE best! RMAed my old PSU, Tigerdirect.ca said at least 5 bussiness days, gets here from The States in less than 2 bussiness days!

So it's probably a good thing they're not geeks? Or are they? I would pee myself if a 7800gt showed up at my door :D

I had a similar story:
Fedex, of all services, delivered to the wrong address. I was wondering why tracking showed my package as delivered, even though I never received it.

I was anxiously awaiting my 6800GT in the mail. Seeing that it may have been delivered to the wrong address, it was probably as good as gone. Good thing I had honest neighbors. Oddly enough when my neighbor showed up at my door, the package was open. They opened the package cuz they were expecting one too, but they forgot to read the name on the label.

Lucky for me, it was all girls living upstairs. Had it been a buncha guys, my package would have never made it near my room. Okay, I don't mean to be stereotyping, but that's the way it was. I guess I just got lucky :)

Lol, they are definetly not geeks, but I'm sure the teenager would've known that the video card had some selling value to it :).

I paid 130 for a package to get someone over night by 10:30, they missed the dead night and did not get me a signature, they were trying not to give me a refund. So I told them give me a refund or a sig and they said well we can;t do that. I was like ok then I need to claim the 550 insurance and they gave me back my 130 so fast.
