I have no idea what "full stop" means. Are you saying that is where your brain shuts off?

And actually, yes. As i just said you see the last 2 sentences only and that is the end to you. That is describing how white people would describe black people using that phrase and would be racist if that is all the context one had. But if you read your whole quote of UglyCasanova his context is that white people call racists "racists" no matter their color, thus calling "a spade a spade" in its original context and meaning before the word "spade" become a derogatory word towards blacks applies.

Game. Set. Match....or is it full stop?

"Full stop" is how virtually every english speaking nation outside the US says "period." Most people know this. It's a common term in the world. How ironic you then go on to use that to try and paint me as somehow stupid.

That is the context he used it in. All the equivocation in the world will not change that. The last two sentences are the context here.

So am I understanding the OP correctly; he found an example of a black person who is a racist but when multiple threads come up about white people being racist, well, that's not racism.

Always the victim.

You are missing the point. The OP is very concerned that both sides are the same.

If you say so. Maybe you are unhinged as another poster pointed out. You want so bad to scream “racist”at someone you are blinded by reason and only see what you want to see.

The usual suspects.

Tell me, do you believe widespread institutionalized racism against blacks exists in the US?

I believe there is widespread racism, and institutions with many racists. If you are asking me if there are institutions that cause negative outcomes for Blacks, not really. I would say things like the "War on Drugs" hurts Black people more than any other group, but that is more policy than institution.

I'm guessing this is you trying to shift from the fact that you are out on an island here, and so you are shifting toward a topic you believe you can "win" at. Sorry to burst your Bubble, but I do believe Blacks face more racism than Whites by a significant margin.

First, I do not think you understand the definition of "institutionalized racism."

Institutional racism (also known as institutionalized racism) is a form of racism expressed in the practice of social and political institutions (this can be more than proven by the unequal treatment of blacks by police and the justice system). Institutional racism is also racism by individuals or informal social groups, governed by behavioral norms that support racist thinking and foment active racism.

Second, no need to shift other than to stop you from repeating "nuh uh" over and over again. Was he talking about what white people say about blacks? Yes. Was he speaking about blacks? Yes. In context his comment was either incredibly tone deaf or blatantly racist. Either way, it was unacceptable.

And no amount of equivocation is going to change that.

That fits the definition I know. As I said, I know of no system that promotes racism. Care to give me one to help me understand your position?

It was only about Black people though.

I’d disagree with that. The people on the right I talk to aren’t afraid of calling a racist white person a racist. They also aren’t afraid of calling a racist black persons one. Granted some don’t really give a shit that they are racist, but they aren’t afraid to call a spade a spade.

Quite clearly he is talking about both White and Black people being called racist. Did you not understand that? Are you that unhinged that you can't see White in that sentence?

A Birmingham pastor known for posting controversial church signs has targeted Alabama's largest church with a sign that says, "Black Folks Need to Stay Out of White Churches."

The Rev. Michael R. Jordan, pastor of New Era Baptist Church in Birmingham's West End, said the sign expresses his opposition to the Church of the Highlands starting a church in his neighborhood.

..
"It's a slavemaster church," Jordan said in an interview with AL.com. "I call it plantation religion, slavemaster religion. The white rich folks start a church and put a black pastor in charge of it."

So, scheming black fundie preacher moves to protect his collection plate from an even bigger scheming white megachurch pastor with a pitch to black people's history & resentment towards Whites. Some of 'em remember George Wallace as governor & what life was like when they were kids. Some are receptive, I'm sure.

White snowflakes dance with glee at finding some echo of their own bigotry in black people.

Can't we just condemn racists on an individual basis, not attribute their individual actions to the entirety of their demographic, and not try to score points for "our side" by pointing out poor behavior on the "other side?" Threads like this are pretty useless.

So, your idea is that we should stop using any word or phrase, or phrase that has a word that might be a code used by racists? Do you realize the absurd rabbi hole that would be?

"Rabbi hole" is an anti Semitic phrase, dude.

Ignoring the totality of this thread, I just want to say. Al Pastor is delicious. Those who fled lebanon during the collapse of the ottoman empire and established roots in Mexico brought to the world a food so delicious, so amazing, it could transcend forums and threads. They took the Donair of their homeland, but, marinated pork instead of lamb with spices and seasonings available locally in Mexico and cooked it on a spit. The resulting meat is wonderful, so much so, that I consider it one of the ultimate meats of the world.

Now back to your regularly scheduled bickering...
