Watched Watermelon Man (1971, starring Godfrey Cambridge, directed by Melvin Van Peebles, RIP) over the last few days. Especially like the ending. White bigot suddenly becomes black. In the end he eschews bigotry and embraces being black. Cambridge was really something. After 3 years of medical school he dropped out to pursue an acting career, supporting himself with myriad odd jobs, eventually getting roles and also becoming one of the premier stand up comedians in the country. Died of heart attack at 43! 😳
