YAET: Yay my first negative received!

I sold a $10 item. I sent an invoice, then followed up a few days later when I hadn't heard from him. The auction clearly stated when payment was due. He wrote back that he was moving, changing bank accounts, etc. and would pay soon. I waited another week, gave him a deadline of 2 days later, then filed a non paying bidder and left a neg when it went through.

Today I get the obligatory retaliatory negative: "ROOKIE..I was in the hospital...LEARN how to contact buyer if you have concern"

I guess I could have gotten his phone number from ebay and tried calling but I don't think that's something I should have to do. Would you go that far out of your way to track down a buyer?

There is the option of mutual withdrawal (sounds sexual), but fvck that, he earned his neg.

Sounds like he's full of it Moved, changed banks AND was hospitalized all within a few weeks? Too convenient. Not to mention the reply he gave you for neg'ing him.

That's bullshit on his side. You should see if you can get eBay to remove it. You don't deserve a negative if you can prove that the auction clearly stated when the payment was expected by.

you can get it removed.

go to help section of ebay, there's some form you can fill out if you feel your neg was invalid. The reason is that you tried to contact him but was not successful.

I did this once to some d!ck who left me a neg after I repeatedly tried to contact him and he never once responded. So he left a retailtory neg. But I got it removed using the methods i said above.
