YAET: WOW - I didn't realized how crappy eBay really is

First time I've sold in months.

First off, it's getting more and more confusing just trying to list a simple thing such as a video game.

Anyway, I set a BIN of $45, auction starts at 99 cents. Anyway, someone just bid on the game and suddenly, BIN is gone.

WTF is this for? I don't see how this is good in anyway. So I paid the money for BIN for nothing now that it disappears when someone bids.

eBay has gone downhill....big time.

I could be wrong here, but I don't think that's a new thing. I thought 'buy it now' always disappeared after the first bid.

bin stays if you have a reserve however (unless they bid over that reserve)

I agree with you... ebay has gone way way downhill. I just want to type in a damn description, title, black non-us bidders, and set a price. I don't care about donating, interest free financing, or any of the other 50 random things you have to go through and select.

They've made it such a huge PITA to make an auction (for the occasional seller anyway) so that I don't even ebay anything unless I know I'll get at least $100 for it.. the entire process just isn't worth the hassle anymore.


FWIW I've since gone to craigslist. Rather than making $100 I make $80 and the buyer can meet me during lunch. Hell, after ebay, paypal, and shipping you only make about $27.50 on the $100 item any damn way.
