i heard this huge monkey boy (he's a personal trainer) at my gym tell his client that he should NOT stretch before lifting. He said to stretch after lifting. Something about leaving the muscles tight during a workout helping....I always thought u should strech before?!?!
Conventional theories about stretching seem to be going out the window...people are now saying that if you stretch before warming up, you can often do more harm than good (hyperextension, etc.).

You'd likely get a good response posting this over at my forums. 😉

My chiropractor told me to stretch my hamstring muscles after I exercise to keep them loose. He said it is after exercising that the muscles will tense up, the exercising itself loosens them. But that was just for keeping my hamstrings loose after 60 minutes of walking.
