I am selling a new CharBroil grill on Ebay.
This thing weighs 65lb so I stated I'd prefer local pickup.

I got this email from some dude:

Okay, first of all 😕

Second of all, WTF is he talking about???

He's going to send you a fake money order, when you cash it and deposit it into the bank, the bank won't realize it's fake. You'll send him the etra cash out of your account (because hey, the money's there, right?) plus his courier will pick up your grill.

Two weeks later, you'll get a call/letter from the bank saying they found out the money order was fake and are taking back the money you deposited. You're out whatever money you sent him plus the grill.

Bad grammer in an email = scam. That's almost always true. It's universally true for expensive items.

a slightly different worded "Scam"

Any time the buyer either ask what the asking price is or wants to send a check for more than the item is selling for and wants the any excess sent back or anything that sounds strange or fishy just laugh and move on... 😉

The only way I would even consider it might be a USPS money order and be damn sure it clears or is checked very closely... I would still be very leary... 😉

he picked the wrong day.....

just found out this morning another buyer's Paypal account is under fraud investigation and $60 he paid me has been put on hold :|

As long as you followed all Paypal's proceedures for shipping, you should be covered. If you sent to an unconfirmed address or shipped via a carrier that wasn't fully trackable (USPS's delivery conf. doesn't count), you might be out the money.
