YAET: Their support is worthless!

There was a fraudulent eBay charge on a CC of ours (it was stolen, cancelled in hours, but still happened). I wrote to them about it through their forms, which should merit a reply in "24-48 hours". Whatever. I also talked to their live chat support to and essentially got hung-up on after being stonewalled. The best they could say was to file a police report, but trust me, the police around here would LAUGH at the thought. WTF? I want the item number so I can find out who did this because nobody else will (wallet was stolen at work -- now you understand why?). Anybody have a telephone number for eBay?

shouldn't you just take that up with the credit card, they will investigate if they feel it is worth their time.

I think you missed the part about it being stolen at work ==> thief is still there. The CC company doesn't give a bleep. :(

I dont' think you tried hard enough with your CC company. it doesn't matter where your card was stolen.

Do you think they're going to seriously investigate a $7 fraud? I don't. :( Really, that's all it was. I want to catch the jerk who took the CC though, so I need the item number to start.

You're right, though, I should call the CC company to see if they know anything more.

If a CC company contacts ebay with a request for information it'll have much higher value than if you or I tried contacting ebay

Well more than anything it would be good to know who did it so said person can be avoided. Criminal proceedings... maybe.
