You should be lucky he bothered to ship to canada, my ebay policy is no foreign bitches allowed.

Shipping to Canada is easy and takes no effort.

but it always takes longer

I'm aware that it takes longer, but it doesn't take two weeks to fill out a customs declaration, does it?

seriously...are you this much of a pain in the ass in real life?

he does wear his collar up

Would you not be pissed off if someone took two weeks to mail your damaged item, overcharged you for shipping, and refused to refund your money?

I'm not expecting commercial retail service, I just want honesty.

were you honest with the seller when you bid and won his auction (implying you agreed with the terms..the shipping terms included) and then weaseled your way into having him reduce them?

He didn't reply to any of my requests for shipping amount. The actual amount of shipping was $8. He was trying to make $11 for the massive inconvenience to ship to Canada.

After this experience with you...do you still wonder why? 😛

Please explain how I am being difficult. I paid for the item within minutes of the auction closing.

He failed to mail the item even within a few days of the auction close.
He failed to mail an item in acceptable condition.
He failed to respond to any of my emails regarding shipping amount.

You're right. I'm the asshole.

give us some details please. You know I am usually on your side, but you are being very vague about the whole thing. What kind of item was it, what was it that made it unacceptable?

Some people are slow shippers. I usually ship out next day, but I have had times where I just couldnt ship things out right away. One time I just plain forgot until the buyer emailed me.

I am not saying you were in the wrong, just that we need more details.

The item was a tuxedo vest (for my Joker halloween costume). The item arrived with a large hole in the back and a tear down the seam.

I wouldn't have minded if the item took even longer, I realize things get held up, but to wait two weeks and then use the excuse "auction ended a month ago" really pisses me off.

Trying to rip me off with shipping also pisses me off. I never do it.

How about a link to the auction? That would settle a lot.

Me too. I absolutely will not sell anything to anyone outside the continental US. Every sale I've ever had that has been out of the country has been a huge pain in the ass for me.

This thread confirms it even more.

You have yet to answer many people's questions. Why did you bid (and ultimately win the auction) not accepting the terms of S/H?

No matter what you think of the amount, it's enough for him/her to have given you a neg in the first place without your 'dealing' with him/her. NPB is what you were in the first place.

Why does this surprise anyone who uses fleabay?
btw, how bout a link to the auction? To long ago?

Yes this seller seems to be a deadbeat. The whole canadian customs excuse is tired, and has been tired LONG before ebay existed.
From your version of the story, the seller didn't follow any prudent trading techniques. If the package was truly post marked in the US 2 weeks after the auction ended, then he definatly slacked on the sending of the item. Seems fishy all around. Throw in the fact that this person uses all caps in emails and can't write english well, and you got a sealed deal here.

Cut your losses, do business locally.

On a side note...
Do you honestly think you're going to come on this forum with the reputation you built and expect constructive comments?

You've still never explained why you'd bid on an item and then bitch about the S&H charges after you bid/win. You're just asking for a hassle if you do that crap...

The first thing that seems fishy is that the bidder and winner of the auction wasn't willing to pay S/H as it was explained and dealt it down. The bidder got lot lucky that the seller was willing to negotiate.

After that first sign of a bidder not being able to READ, and then they wound up winning...bad bidder IMHO.

Seller was stupid for caving in even though it was within his/her right to do so.

I would have definitely filed NPB if the buyer wasn't willing to STFU and pay according to my auction rules.

If you used PayPal, you only need to file a claim. They will refund your money and screw the seller.
Otherwise, read the terms and STFU.

Ohhh thats gotta sting.:Q

You need to be more careful on eBay, always look @ shipping & don't buy unless it's listed. Take feedback into account, but realize both parties are afraid of negative feedback even though one of them may well deserve it.
