I sometimes wonder if breaking the shrink wrap on an item makes it "used".

I just sold a Linksys USB print server / switch that had been opened but never used. I sold it as used, even though it has never technically been used.

Thats what it should be, but this is ebay, nothing is what it should be.

"Opened to verify contents" is a nice way of saying I tested it out for you, but its condition is still new for you.

No cover up needed. I accurately describe my items.

There are honest people out there but there are the dishonest ones too.

I always say my sh!T is shrink wrapped, retail boxed, NIB, never used, never opened. Otherwise it's used. There's no in-between crap (well except when I cut the UPC code out for rebate, but that doesn't count as opening does it? It's not like i stick my fingers in that hole and screw around with the product)

For that I usually say it's factory sealed with the UPC barcode removed for promotional purposes.
