Sold a 700m on ebay, when i posted it i listed it as having an 8 cell battery, when i shipped it i accidently left my 4 cell battery in there (had 3 of these machines at one point)

Buyer pointed it out to me today when he recieved, i said shoot, i found the 8 cell laying in the box in the back of my closet

So i offered the guy 3 options:
Pay him the difference ($45)
Cross Ship (i pay shipping both way + $10 for time)
Let him buy the 4 cell from me (for $40) and i ship him the 8 cell

Sound reasonable to you guys?

Hmm...options 1 and 3 say nothing about lost time unlike option 2.
The guy has no lost time with options 1 and 3. The $10 for his time in option 2 is because he'll have to drive to the post office and ship out the battery, plus he'd be without it for however long it took the 8 cell to get there. With options 1 and 3, he has a fully functioning laptop with a battery that won't last as long

1 and 3 do not need to involve last time. In both cases, the buyer has a functional product. in the case of cross shipping (option 2) however, there is lost-time involved, where the buyer is unable to use the product with the equipment provided him.

the options are all very reasonable; glad to see a seller taking responsibility for mistakes.

I assumed that it was implied that he wait until he gets the 8 cell to ship the 4 cell out.
