It's a pretty damn good deal, I just hate how you can't see the history of bids/who's bidding on the item. I'm feeling iffy...especially cause the guy is selling cheap old clothes and then these expensive high quality turntables...what do you guys recommend to ease my tension?

Just make sure you use a credit card so you have an extra layer of protection.

I'll tell you why he is selling cheap old clothes and two technics.
He is a old raver/dj who is selling is old clothes and decks.

Technics are a dime a dozen nowadays, don't sweat it.

Sampson, this is true, but they still go for around $500 brand new and around $250-$300 each used. With the coffin it ain't a bad deal...don't really need the mixer but hey I'll take an extra one.

What they go for new doesn't have much to do with what they go for used.

You got an ok price for that set of equipment. The mixer is crap and the coffin isn't listed as anything special (coffins are really just a cloth covered plywood box).
The ortofon cartridges are nice to get with it, if you're lucky the stylii will be in good shape but don't count on it.

When I picked up my first set of techs like almost 15 years ago, I got them for $550. They were used, in very good condition, included some HP 680 carts, dust covers and garbage slipmats. Some guy had them sitting around in his basement for some random reason and wanted to sell them.

Yea I may have to jump ship on the deal. Might have found a better one. But this guy hasn't replied to any of my questions/emails in 2 days anyway...so not feeling too strongly about it.
