He has a private feedback, I didn't think twice about him being a scammer
It looks like he has an overwhelming number of negatives and neutrals in the past month.

Here's the story..
1wk after item does not arrive, I send him an email asking about the status.
1wk later, I do not receive the package, nor do I get a response regarding the status. I send him a threatful email with threats to give negative ratings. I get a response the next day, saying he'll "look into the issue".
2days later, I get no response from him about the status, and I send him another email inquiring about the status, with more threats to file non-shipment claims if my email is ignored again within the next day.
another 2 days later, no response.

I just filed a dispute with paypal. Lesson of the story.. even established ebayers with 99% ratings may end up giving you the most trouble.

UPDATE Ok I got the refund from paypal. So ebay has basically thus confirmed that he IS INDEED a scammer. So is there anyway for ebay to shut him down, or does ebay not care and just want his money?

Yeah yeah yeah.. I know... I didn't even catch it until I went back to check his feedback 1 week my item didn't ship.
It's a small item.. who scams on these items?

I NEVER deal with anyone with private feedback. There is no reason to have it.

Why is it even offered? I never could understand the reason.

But if i see that I move on, no matter how good the deal.

Obviously that guy

Anyways, I don't think their intention was to scam. Their company is just very irresponsible/poorly organized/lazy.

i was scammed by a guy with 100% feedback with 4000+ positives over 2 years..i thought to myself that was pretty amazing....looked through a few and didnt see a trend...so i bought from him some software

software came...wasn't legit at all...not even a fake label on the BURNED CD, in a slimline case with a insert that was printed on thin paper with b/w ink...got my money back though thanx to paypal 😀

A cheap lesson to always look at feedback before you bid not a week after you've won an auction.

Even with 99% positive the last 5 entries out of 500 could be about shipping bricks instead of powerbooks.

A while back, I won an auction for $40, from someone with a feedback score of ~420 (over 600 total positives), ~98.8% positive. Drama ensues.

Close of auction: September 4.

September 13: I email him to find out when he'd shipped the item.

September 14: He says he is out of town for a family emergency, and left the eBay items with a roommate to mail. He says he'll find out if it has been shipped yet.

September 17: I ask what he found out.

September 21: He says he got home and found that the packages hadn't been mailed yet. He'll ship them all, including mine, ASAP.

September 28: I ask AGAIN what the status was, and mention that I'm getting impatient.

October 1: No response yet. I tell him I'll file a claim with Paypal if I don't have it in my hands by October 4.

October 3: He appologizes for the delay, and says he's been busy with "funeral arrangements". He promises I'll have the item by the 7th.

That concludes our contact. On October 10, I filed a claim with Paypal. When he hadn't refuted the claim by October 20, Paypal gave me the $40 back, from his account.

I waited over 90 days to leave a negative, hoping to squeek through before he got a chance to leave one. No such luck. He retaliated within a few hours with this negative: "leaves negative feedback after full refund. Poor communication". This brings me down to 12 positives and one negative, or 92.3% positive. Argh :|

It should be noted that the WHOLE TIME through this whole fiasco, the seller is leaving positive feedback for other buyers, and listing more auctions, almost daily. This seller seems to love doing this to people with little feedback, maybe having fun destroying people's reputation?

Between when the auction closed, and I left my negative feedback, he got over 10 other negatives for the same thing, and two neutrals--all from people with a feedback rating of less than 20. He's not doing it for the money; It's all low-value items, less than $50 apiece. These people all got their money back fine, through a Paypal dispute. The seller offers no applogies, telling some they should have gotten insured shipping; he just says some are lying. Mine was documented too well to do that, luckily.

Cliff's: I pay eBay seller $40 for item I win in auction. 36 days after auction ends, I file for claim with Paypal. Paypal gives me my money. I leave negative feedback for seller, seller retaliates with a negative for me..

why would ebay allow someone to have private feedback. Isn't that defeating the whole damn idea of feedback. Boy I hope that bitch who runs ebays dies in a firery helicopter crash.
