ive just sold a sony MD player/recorder for £58 on ebay

auction ended approx 1pm 4th january 2006.

today i recieve a message from the buyer, who has perfect feed back, stating that he paid via paypal at approx 4pm on the same day

today is the 5th, i check my paypal account and theres no record of any such activity.

now in a n00b at ebay/paypal, but when i paypalled a friend £25 he had the money in his paypal account less than 10seconds later.

this has been a whole 24 hours since he claims to have paid me, and theres nothing there....

is this normal

-pp and my bank show no such activity 24hours later

Definately not normal.

Are both of you in the UK, or is one elsewhere? If the buyer is in the US, then it might be normal.

make sure he sent it to the right address (the one your checking). If you still can't find it, have him cancel it and resend.

both UK so far as i can tell...his address shows as Southampton

Hmm, then I would say to take the advice Mikey offered. All PayPal payments I have recieved (1000+) have cleared in seconds.

right just spoke with him....appears he sent it to the wrong email

i said in the invoice which email to paypal just to make sure, im really not up on these things so i dunno, i guess he just pressed pay via paypal and somehow ive linked paypal to an address not used for paypal

the addy he paypal'd is the addy ebay send me emails to
