Bought this item:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...tem=8027773900&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT

I needed it badly as my old one literally fell apart. Took about 3 days to ship which is OK. Seller honored my request to use any shipment method other than UPS. Excellent.

I received the item. There was absolutely no physical damage to the box. I open it...and the air filter is broken. Same problem as my old one which is over a year old! The metal attatchment and the filter just fell apart in my hands.

I emailed the seller on Sunday. No reply. Emailed again on Thursday. No reply. I didn't want to ship it back...just to repair it myself as I NEED an air filter. So I took a bunch of pictures and repaired it myself. I asked the seller for a partial refund to offset the glue I bought ($7 for Gorilla Glue) and no reply.

I realize the item was $0.02 but obviously his numbers are in the shipping costs, so don't crap on me there. Should I negative feedback and get a retalitory...or just let it slide for such a small cost?

You paid 20 cents for it? No wonder it fell apart.

Jesus, talk about bloated shipping. Can't have cost more than a few bucks, with insurance and all. I'd say if you can't get a partial refund definitely leave neutral at least, just say that the product arrived broken, and the seller ignored you.

Chalk it up to experience. Try something reputable, like K&N universal high flow air filters next time. Find the closest size that will fit, and you can get a step-up/down adapter for the pipe diameter.

no

Yep you're right, paying $25 for a jigsaw filter you have to glue together before you slap it in your car is a much better deal.

Well...negative feedback left after 4 emails with no reply.

Retalitory negatives are removed by Ebay, yes?

It's common for sellers to do this to save money on the ebay fees. Ebay takes like 4% now of the final price. So 4% off 20 cents is a lot less than 4% on $20.

ya know... you got hammered on shipping by a seller with 'not great' feedback.

you have now alter the item without permission or acknowledgement from the seller.

it would say that it is time to just learn from this and get a reputable supplier.

:( sorry.

I filed a claim with Paypal. Of course the seller took the time to deny my allegations. Now what? Who's word will be taken?

You left him a negative feedback right? Looking at his history, I don't see a negative by you! I saw the one he left for you...

...unless I'm going blind.
