Is it really necessary to wait till NOVEMBER to close the application deadline for an entry level help desk position paying $30,000 a year.

I've seen a handful of these in my jobsearches and just have to shake my head. Can somebody with a lot more wisdom than me explain why a 3 month application period is needed for a fairly low paying, entry level position that probably gets enundated with hundreds of applications a week?

Couldn't they maybe scale that back to a month long open application period? Seems like it's counter productive to have to wade your way through the flood of resumes.

If these threads remind me of anything, it's that many businesses recruit the same way Rank #8000+ guilds recruit in Guild Wars. Come to think of it, I'm not sure which is more laughable.

Didn't tell you about all this in school did they?
