my dad wants to sell our 36" wega tv, he's keen to do it through ebay. problem is, i'll have a max of 1 positive feedback if all goes well with a current sale, which it should. do you think people would bid on a $500-600 tv from a seller like myself? i'm under the impression they wouldn't, and i don't want to pay the listing fees etc if there is no chance.

the problem with selling a TV on ebay is the shipping. Try your local papers along with ebay. I wouldnt worry about the feedback thing.

Most people on ebay are stupid, and likely do not look at the amount of feedback a person has before bidding. I wouldnt worry about it, you will find a buyer.

Also, stress the idea of local pickup over shipping. Save you and the buyer some money and effort.

Also, try selling on AT FS/FT to someone local.

Have no fears, just charge like a "fair" rate of like $475 dollars (Like all the other Ebayer's) or offer it for local pickup only

Well if it really weighs 400 pounds, that might not be so far off the mark. You'd be better off with a freight company for something that heavy.
Is it really that heavy?!

Yeah, VVega's are beasts. My parents VVega KV36XBR400 is around 300 lbs. We didn't trust anything but Sony's custom-for-the-TV stand to hold it. It sure is a beaut though.

Don't worry about feedback. I just paid $315.00 for an HDTV receiver to someone with zero feedback. But he was really good with communications during and after the auction.

You can list it for local pick up only, but that will seriously limit the amount of bidders. I agree, however, that it is a good idea to list it in the for sale/trade forum here. I bought and sold quite a bit there and they are really an honest good bunch of people there.

:)

I think Viper GTS tried to sell a 32 Wega here and there were tons of issues with getting it shipped. Try PMing him and maybe he could give you some details. You should be looking for a local deal.

Run an ad in the local paper, cash only.
