So I have about 20,000+ Magic the Gathering cards. ALL of them are from the old editions (Alpha, Beta, Legends, Arabian Nights, The Dark, Ice Age, 3rd edition, etc.) I have a TON of rare and expensive cards. I want to sell all of them on eBay sooner or later after I dig through them and all. My question is: I'm not sure whether I should sell the rare cards separate from one another, or sell everything at once. Has anyone been in the same situation with cards of any type? What did you decide to do?

Never been in that situation, but what I would think about is this:

1. What type of person is the most likely buyer of those cards?
2. What kind of money is that type of person likely to have available to spend on them?

Let's say you think your cards are worth $1,000 (I have no idea, of course). If the target audience is people who have that kind of money to spend, then offer them all at once. If not, then sell the rare ones separately, and the rest in one lump. Like any collectible, the common items are common (duh!) and even if you have a huge pile of common items, few people are going to be interested. You might find that the rare cards get you 95% of the money and the commons get next to nothing.

Well, thing is... for number 1 I've seen all ages. I started collecting in 4th grade.. ~11 years ago. I would go to tournaments and stuff when I got a bit older and would see grown men playing. I just did an eBay search for "Magic the Gathering" and some rare cards of mine are going for $40+ each. Some bulk stuff is in the 3-4k range. I think if people are bidding 3k on cards, it's not anyone young. I think I would get more money in selling them all at once. I could have pictures of all the rare cards and whatnot, then just jack the price up since there are so many other cards.

I would create multiple lots for the rares, or even individual listings for any really rare cards (organized by series/edition).

As far as the commons are concerned, I'm not sure they're worth selling, due to the high S&H cost of shipping a huge lot.

I'm pretty sure you will make more by selling lots than by posting one listing with all your cards in it.
