Lately I have found it pretty hard to even look at a computer screen, I will have to squint to even look at it and then take a break for awhile then come back every once and awhile. I don't spend more then maybe 2 hours on the PC per day. Any ideas?

I can't afford to go see an eye doctor so I was hoping someone had the same issue that could suggest something.

How often do you blink? (Make sure to blink more often!) Use eye drops for "tired computer eyes" at your local drug store...

Increase the text size, turn down the brightness and turn up the refresh rate.

EDIT: Also...didn't your mother warn you that looking at that stuff would make you go blind? Or was it cross-eyed? I can never remember.

I don't blink a lot but maybe a few times a minute or so?

Can you suggest a "Tired Computer Eyes" drop?

How bright is the surrounding light? I can't stand using a computer in a very bright room, it makes it very difficult to see anything. My eyes get all the extra light coming in, so my pupils constrict, which makes the screen look darker than it is. Position of the light also matters - a light directly above the monitor or my chair makes it difficult for me to see what's on the monitor, but the same light a few feet behind me, still on the ceiling, is perfectly fine.

I use natural light during the day and switch on my room light at night. It's not as bright during the day but enough.

Go to the drug store and try some of those cheapo reading glasses. Some even have a mini vision test on the display. Start with some low magnification lenses and see if it makes a difference.
