YADT: Light Sensitive?

I've been dealing with this "problem" for years. Sunlight gives me instant headaces. Heck, even bright rooms result in a significant amount of pressure around my eyes and in my forehead. I'm currently sitting in my office right now looking like an idiot because my sunglasses help; heck, they work. As soon as I put them on my "pain" goes away.

I went to a doc about 5-6 years ago and he prescribed me...ibrupofen. Yeah, like that's gonna help. Now that I finally have insurance I'd like to see if there is some sort of help out there; other then having to wear sunglasses all the time.

Anyone here suffer through this? Should I go to an eye-doc? Or a "normal" one?

normal.

This is more of a health thing than an eye thing. You'll need to see your normal doctor first to get a referral to some fancy specialist.

Start with your GP. If need be, he should refer you to a specialist. Light sensitivity can be a symptom of several conditions.

You might be turning into a vampire.

Are you thirsty but water aint doing the trick? Have you been asking for them to not put garlic bread with your spaghetti at an italian restaurant?

yes, go to an eye doctor. a week or so of extreme sensitivity usually means you haven't been taking care of your eyes, but 6+ years? you must have something seriously wrong

Do you compulsively call Boris Karloff a "F*cking *sshole?"

Man, I hope not. I'm for the most part pretty healthy, but, a lot of times I feel just "out of it" with very little energy. I still force myself to go do things and be active but it's not like I'm really enjoying myself. I also suffer from year-round allergies, which I thought this was just a part of it but the more I suffer with it the more I think they are two seperate issues.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I guess I'll start thumbing through the phone book for a GP and go from there.

I guess I could have googled:

I do have very light green eyes.

I cannot see light early in the morning, like I literally have black out lining that I sewed into my curtains to block all forms of light. After I get up and my eyes are adjusted to wherever I am, I can introduce light slowly and will avoid the soul crushing headache that comes with it.

I am fine in daylight though they are very sensitive, I wear sunglasses everywhere.
