referring to the canon g2 fiasco. what the hell is going on with them, my order got cancelled as well as pyonir

Nope...they had 10% off peripherals and $50 off. The cancelled orders after they delayed shipping for two weeks. The claimed I cancelled the order and when i said i didn't they wouldn't reinstate the order because they no longer carry the G2.

Sammyson is basically right. I'll probably file a complaint with the BBB but that is about all you can do. I'm probably just going to order the G3 at some point in the next couple weeks.

i am sick of the dell bs, it is time to make a stand my brethren. we must no takle this anymore. we are men not pussies. we shall make dell pay.......the army of the twelve monkeys will rise again.

I don't get it. You guys are trying to jump on every Dell deal there is out there and I personally don't see how Dell can sell things so cheap.

If they turn down a really good deal then deal with it - go buy the camera somewhere else for a higher price. Whenever I order something really cheap from Dell and if they turn it down then I can't do anything except wait for the next deal to come out, or look elsewhere.

I reluctantly agree. Whenever I order something from Dell I'm getting at least 25% or more off retail and free shipping usually.

Knowing this, I'm usually prepared to wait up to 2 months 🙁 which sucks but $ talks.
 
It isn't so much the fact that I missed out on getting the camera for $100 less than anywhere else. It is the way Dell handled it. Delaying shipping for two weeks, then saying *I* cancelled the order (when i didn't) and then claiming there is nothing they can do because I cancelled the order and they no longer carry the camera.

Blaming me for not having the camera in stock and delaying shipping for two weeks sounds like poor business practices to me.

So take it up the chain of command. First level or two of "support/service" folks probably -can't- do anything.

technically its not false advertising if they shipped out some... there might not be any more.
 
I don't know why you sweat such trivial things, try spending 50grand every month so that you can have TWO licenses for xp for every box that is capable of running it. We have an agreement with microsoft for corporate volume licensing of XP that forces us to have a license for each and every computer that meets the minimum specs for xp, even if they don't use xp, then ever new dell we buy we pay $511 for the OS+1 year tune up or whatever that Dell forces us to buy. The first thing we do when we get the dell is throw it on the bench and load an image we made from the network, we don't even load into the xp provided by dell, at all.

I got my G2 ordered cancelled as well but it wasn't as bad as others since they attempted to call me a few days later about my order not being shipped. Still, how does a large company like dell have a website that doesn't even update the inventory in real time? When I called up Dell, I fully expected a bait and switch tatic but they didn't. Hrrmm... well did anyone get a coupon or some sorta compensation for that order?

NewSc2, what is there not to get? Deal produces deals that they KNOW that there will be heavy discounts. It's not any customer's fault that he or she would try to take advantage of them. But to be given the run around, and not inform many of the customers what the situations is simply fault on Dell's side. Dell sells their products for cheap because they probably order in large volumes as well so no need to worry about them.

dell doesn't keep their own inventory, thats why.
