Two years ago, my sister who is 3 years younger than myself met this guy. My sister then decided to get divorced from her current husband. The guy my sister was dating was caught in a sting as he was "chatting" with what he thought was a young girl - who he finally decided to meet up with. However, there was a big surprise and it was the police department that was waiting for him. He was convicted of preying on minors and sentenced to jail.
Prior to the jail sentence, my sister was living with this guy and planned on getting married to him. Due to this relationship, my sister had to sign over custody of her five children to their father so my sister could continue to live with this criminal.
The felon has now finished his jail sentence and is currently living in a half-way house as he transitions back to the free world. Also, I believe he has a few years of probation as part of the sentencing. Albeit, my sister claims she is quite happy with this guy.
I don't really have any additional comments regarding this situation except for a big WTF
