My old friend Phil died Jan.7, 2011 @ approximately 1:00 am from lung cancer.
Y&T was one of the first bands I ever worked with. I mixed live sound for a year4 and a half, then went to doing lighting and crew wrangling for another 2 years. I then went on to recording studio work and left the live side for a few years. I returned to work with them again in 2003 as they re-formed and played some festival shows in Europe.
Phil always was a heavy smoker and he partied as hard as anyone I know.

Here is a link to the thread on the Menniketti / Y&t site if you want to chime in.

I remember buying their first album in the record store cut-outs, probably ~1980. At the time i had never heard of them but after that their albums were heavily played at parties in the early to mid eighties.

RIP Phil

Lost my sister in law early last year to smoking and lung cancer.
