YADCT: need your recommendation

this will be used mostly for taking pics of toy samples at 1-3' distances.

needs: 5-8 megapixel, excellent macro & close-up focus, video, USB cable, internal battery w/charger is preferred (no AA batts)

don't care about: form factor, memory card type, "high end" features.

someone here recommended Sony's Cyber-shot DSC-P200 but I read on dpreview that it doesn't have great focus up close.
 
Canon consumer cameras.

You're not going to get anything with 8 megapixels for less than $300. Look at the A Series and the SD series. They have pretty decent macro, IMO.
