Great family dogs. Our family Boxer, Maddy, has had several health issues though, mostly hip problems. Other than that, she's very lovable and great with kids and other animals.

well i do have a backyard, its not big, but he will most likely be running with me every morning so that will help. whats another dog that is similar to a boxer(short hair, friendly, muscular) that doesnt have quite as much energy

hyper, they slobber, they're not super bright, but they are friendly and a lot of fun to watch when they are playing.

My neighbor has 2... Very friendly but both of them have some health problems.

One has some hip problems and the other has had some kind of issues with digestion. I know he lost a LOT of weight and was pretty much at the verge of death. His owners put an immense amount of money into him and they've been able to restore him to normal weight though he apparently still has bloody stool and is still on heavy medication.

I think that it comes down (as with most dogs) to getting them from a reputable breeder who breeds 'out' genetic issues. My cousin just got one from a backyard-breeder and at 6 months he already has thyroid and heart issues.

My brother-in-law is a vet and has seen a lot of Boxers with heart issues.

That being said our next dog will be from a rescue shelter.
