fine, aptriot is ok ,but corsair value select is slightly better. ocing is unaffected by ram, since running a divider affects performance pretty much zilch.

why dual pci-e and agp if you go pci-e video card? go Epox 9NPA+ ultra

6 fans will not a silent case make... besides, i doubt you can fit 6 fans into the case, get some quiet panaflows[panasonic]( a bit more expensive, but by far the best fans on the market and you can buy in any size80,92,120mm and 5 levels of sound from silent(low rpm, low air movement) to very loud(higfh rpm, very high cfm air movement)

i think your opteron 144 is overpriced but if monarch's the only place with them, then i guess you have no alternative but an A64 3000 or 3200+.

it seems you'll be OCing cause of the opteron so considering ballistix ram might be a good idea. it is $40 more expensive, but it's a lot better than patriot for overclocking. why not corsair value ram? it's the same price as patriot

the cooler master fans aren't particularly loud. i had a couple once. replaced them with some antecs, but it turns out the 'silent' purepower is the noisemaker. or maybe it's the hard drives that aren't isolated.

I had a $800 limit on spending. I plan on upgrading up down the line anyways.

The reason I went with the ASrock is because it seems to work good with the opt144. I see people got the Epox working too. I also considering trying to use my old AGP card..but at the last minute decided to nix that idea.

I got the 6 fans to replace 3 in my case...maybe add one more. I was going to buy pany's..but for the price of one I got all 6 of the coolers.

On the price of the opt...I know it was high..but I figured after I added the freebies in..the installation and guarenteed working from Monarch..it was worth it. The only other place I found that was worthwhile cheaper was mwave. It was $175ish for the retail box. I was going to go tankguys..but the second I decided to buy they were sold out of the 144.

I have Antec case fans..they seemed loud back then..I'll try these and see how loud they sound...

Question on the case fans...in theory its supposed to be the same air flow coming in as going out. How do you do that with a front fan, back fan, and side air duct fan? ..and if the PSU counts..that one too?

air coming in will always be same as air going out because of vaccum even with no front fan, but generalyl justinstall all of them. bakc is for going out, front side is for going in.

Looks pretty good, I love any build with the new Opty. I think you would have good luck with all those parts, very well matched and good choices.

It ate me up alive that I bought the ASrock and cheaper memory than I should. Oh well.. I will move those parts to a spare PC down the line since I still have an AGP card. Maybe I can sell it to someone as a budget system.
