I took delivery of the 06 Murano last Saturday and waiting to get clear bra installed on Thursday. After I get clear bra installed I?m going to protect the rest of the paint. I have any home some polishes and waxes like meguire polish, gold class wax, nxt wax, and zymol cleaner wax. I always heard of Zaino polish and wax but never tried them. They always seemed expensive to me and sounded like a lot of work. But now I want to buy some and try it for myself. Does anybody here uses Zaino products care to share your experiences? The testimonials on their page make it sound like the next best thing since sliced bread.

thanks

Yes, Zaino is worth the money if you don't want to speed alot of effort waxing. Easy on Easy off.

watch when waxing around the clear bra. it is possible, but normally you will leave a white residue around the bra if you dont clean it well enough.

basically... take painters/scotch tape and tape the edge of the bra.

thanks for the tip. so is zaino easier to apply and buff off by hand compared to other waxes? the NXT i have is pretty easy to buff off too, but ti doesn't last very long. I read zaino lasts for months at a time. the guys at autopia are hardcore anal detailing perfectionists. i get discouraged by reading their forums because it makes me feel lazy.

also zaino's site said to use fancy brand name bath towels to wash car, apply polish and sealant and to buff. i have a bunch of yellow microfiber towels from costco. are those good enough to do the job?

Zaino will/should take you considerably more time to apply...that said, oh sh!t that's what I was supposed to do today. It's gorgeous out in Michigan, time to wax the car!

edit: Just reread your OP, and most people suggest not waxing your car within the first month of delivery...but then again, if it's been sitting in a lot somewhere, have at it.

Zaino may be easier to do, but expect to spend lots of time applying the 20,398 different coats in their process.

Zaino's not bad. There are others I like much better. Klasse is one of them. Poorboys is another.

Well, for best results this is what you want.

Otherwise, your microfibers are perfectly adequate.

it saids on their page to wait overnight for their product to dry before buffing....is that what you mean? or are their product more difficult to buff off?

I suggest not waxing the car yet, paint takes 6 months to fully cure......

Ah bull. How long do you think the car was sitting on the lot, transport times, etc. There's no harm in wash/clay/polish/seal the day you drive it off the lot.

i'm hessitant to buy the porter cable because i've had bad experiences with cheaper, kragen and craftsman random orbital buffers. they dont seem to work well and the cotton bonnets doesn't last very long. i gave up after doing 3/4 of the hood on my maxima and finished the rest of the car by hand. i read many people can't live without their PC but i'm not sure if i'm that anal about car detailing yet...

Well, you don't use cotton bonnets. Those just scratch. Foam is definitely the pad of choice and there's many different grades as far as cutting action.

EDIT: IIRC Zaino is just a brand of sealant. Others are out there and just as good.

Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection
Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant

EDIT 2: For Fiveohhh;)
Klasse Sealant Glaze

Klasse is freaking awesome when it comes to lasting protection. But ive found that if you top off the Klasse SG with a layer of Carnauba wax (S100) it shines like a mofo

I think he's referring to multiple coats of sealant. The more coats of sealant you apply the longer and shinier you car become. My process: Clay, M3 RC with Porter Cable orbital Buffer, Klasse AIO, Zaino Z2 then Z6. I put 3 coats of Zaino Z2 and it does last a couple of months.

i may invest in a porter cable in the future. for now i'll stick to manual labor. so is it worth it to buy their "kits" ranging from $85 to $117? seems like an awful lot of money to spend on wax when kragen sells it for less than $10 a bottle...i'm very tempted to try so the the murano can have the perfect shine, but is stingy on spending the money...

You don't need to spend $120. Get a $20 bottle of Klasse/Wolfgang/UPP and use it. Zaino is a good product but the others are just as good.

Another recommendation for Klasse products, here. I use the Klasse polishing wax and then top it off with the Show Car Glaze. I do this twice a year, once after winter and once at the end of summer.

Meguiars is what I use.

Zaino is not worth the effort you have to put in to get good results. Who wants to spend 8 hours detailing their car? I don't have that kind of spare time.

That looks good, but I found that Klasse AIO topped with Poorboys EX-P looked even better on top than S100.

so you dont use Klasse SG at all? or do you top AIO with SG and then top that with EP-X? Maybe I'll give the Poorboys a try after my S100 runs out

edit: I usually top AIO with 2 coats of SG (letting it cure overnight each time and buffing it off the next day) and then top that one layer of S100
I love the ease of applying and buffing off with s100
