I need advice on purchasing a car, which must have the following features. Can anyone help?
A coupe/ hacthback
30-35mpg plus
under 2k to buy
Basicly, a good mpg little vehicle, not to be used for stuffing people in the trunk, to run over anyone or to joust telephone poles with.

go buy a brand new Chevy Aveo, tomorrow, you can get it stripped down, out the door for $138 a month.

yes, $138 a month, less than ANY lease you will ever find. its a sorta crappy car, but its EXTREMELY cheap.

The easiest anwser to your question would be some type of hatchback Civic. They all get better than 30-35mpg, and you can probably pick up a cheap one for less than 2k.

If not, a cheap Accord might also fit the bill.

civic hatchback is your best bet by far. you can maintain one for far less than the payment on MIKEMIKE's Aveo suggestion, you won't have to eat tons of depreciation or have to re-lease in a few years, and your registration and insurance will be cheap. and yeah, they get anywhere from ~35 to 50+ MPG, depending on the model. the civic VX hatch will easily match any hybrid's mileage, and probably be faster, too.

accords from that vintage only get about 25 MPG, though they are great cars otherwise.

this $138 a month isnt a lease. it was a pure payment, no money down, no nothing. straight up buying the car.
