i was looking at the website of a junkyard im going to tomorrow to get a trunklid for my a4 and found this thing. Its funny im actually in the market to get one of these and this seems to be a good deal

1991 porsche 944 5 speed CABRIOLET wtih 36K (!!!) miles $6500

I hope i can talk em down a little on that too

EDIT:

Oh yeah as for the damage, the bumper looks to be in decent shape, its just gonna need lil epoxy action up on top. I should be able to straighten the hood out. Fender definitely needs replacing, that will run at probably 200-250 depening where i get it. I might be able to straigten the center piece, but chances are it wont work. That will bea nother 200 bucks give or take. Headlight panels are about 100. Add 300 bucks for paint and maybe some 200 - 400 for some other random stuff (lights etc) and the car is fixed

If you TRULY think that you can fix that thing for $1k, I'll buy it from you for $10k afterwards.

Looks like possible frame damage, and I really think that fixing it will be WAY more than $1k. that's a porsche, and that porsche is fvcked.

As a 91 that would be a 944S2, 16V w/Veriocam. It would depend on if the sub-frame was bent and how much the innards under the hood got damaged. Good project car, I'm too old to do another car, bike maybe but not a car.

At that price, it could be parted out to recoup your money if you have a change of heart.

If I was young and crazy again as you seem to be now, I would go for it. Join a club and meet the ppl, your going to need them :D

Yeah i havent seen the car myself yet, i dont know. It definitely dosnt look like frame damage, the imact didnt look strong enough to set off the bags and/or shift the bumper support. I'm 90 % sure if im fixing it, it would be around 1 grand assuming thats all that wrong with it. Once its fixed it be worth about 12G

I fixed up my a4 (blown bags, hit front right and in the trunk) for about 1500 total including bags. Right now im about 1G into it, i have all the parts and all i need is to have the hood and s4 front end painted.

I'd say hell no, but I know nothing of repairing Porsches, and nothing of body work. If you are capable of making such repairs then you're sufficiently advanced, and you really don't need our opinions anyway.

The 944S2 cabriolet has the same engine as the 968 cabriolet, 3.0L, but is something like 140Kg lighter. That makes it
a more desirable Porsche for many seeking a top down model. :)

Make sure the respray of that area matches to a tee.

In case you don't know. The body panels on Porsches are galvanized:) and are guaranteed against rust out for ten years. The surface must be prepped properly after body work to prevent rusting.

I would LOVE to see you find a Porsche fender for $200... but it isn't going to happen. You will probably need a new hood ($1000+) and the bumper is gonna be around $1000 as well...
