1996 AUDI A6 QUATTRO... 120K... In fair condition car goes for $5,300 on KBB. Guy was asking $3,500... I would be paying $2,900... Is it worth it? The car has had 4 owners, I would be the 5th.
 
although I like Audi's... (just the design aspect) I've heard they're bad mechanically... but I also believe anything will treat you well as long as you treat it well. So 4-5 owners is a big NO.
 
The audi a6 is horrendous mechanically.

My friend has had one for 8 years now, hasn't driven regularly for 3. So many problems with it that just pop up. Mainly electrical, which controls just about everything in the car. He'll never buy an audi again, and I can't say that I will either.

How so? In fact, that mileage seems right on target (12k / yr average).

The price seems right, but that car has the potential to be terrible as far as maintenance and overall reliability goes. As long as you have some cash for repairs and upkeep (and can at least do some work yourself) you should be good.

That said, I purchased a car in August that everyone said would be a maintenance nightmare, and it hasn't been bad at all...so who knows. Maybe you'll luck out.
