YACT: Windshield scratches

I have minor scratches on my windshield, are they easy to get out? Are there DIY solutions or is it best to go to the experts? Is it expensive?

But there the scratches are localized in 1 little area. Everything else is spotless.

I've been reading about polishing but none of the places have price quotes for this service. The scratch i want to remove is like the size of a quarter

You can get it polished, but if you can feel the scratches with your fingernail they are probably too deep.

Wait until your windshield cracks, then get a new windshield.

You'd think that. I had some decently sized rose buds on my last car's windshield for years. Sucker never cracked.
