Oh, and I can't believe no one has recommended a Miata.
You can buy a used E36 M3 for cheap (>$16) or if you really want a car with a set of nuts, look for a used Z28 or TransAM.

Great recommendations on all accounts.
I don't think an E36 would be well suited to the OP. They wanted something "newer", and the E36s haven't been built since 1999. While I would have no problem buying it, the OP stated he wanted built recently.
Z28/TA is a great choice if you want get up and go, very very fast car.
Regarding the Miata? I'll hold my comments unless the OP is really interested in listening.

The only reason I mentioned it is just due to the fact that it is, in its own right, a quick car. The build quality is excellent (usually) and while they cost more to maintian, I don't think shes going to really complain going from a crapbucket 3000GT to a refined Euro tourer.
And yes, a 3000GT SL is a piece of sh!t.

I'm really having a hard time finding any used ones for sale. I've tried autotrader.com, vehix.com, and carsoup.com. Anywhere else I should try?
HEY! I like my car! I haven't had a single problem with it, and it's got more HP and better handling than any other car I've driven!
