You can buy a used E36 M3 for cheap (>$16) or if you really want a car with a set of nuts, look for a used Z28 or TransAM.

Issue with an M3 at that price will be that upkeep will be pretty high. If the OP is fine with a high upkeep, that'll be a nice car

Great recommendations on all accounts.

I don't think an E36 would be well suited to the OP. They wanted something "newer", and the E36s haven't been built since 1999. While I would have no problem buying it, the OP stated he wanted built recently.

Z28/TA is a great choice if you want get up and go, very very fast car.

Regarding the Miata? I'll hold my comments unless the OP is really interested in listening.

The only reason I mentioned it is just due to the fact that it is, in its own right, a quick car. The build quality is excellent (usually) and while they cost more to maintian, I don't think shes going to really complain going from a crapbucket 3000GT to a refined Euro tourer.

And yes, a 3000GT SL is a piece of sh!t.

I'm really having a hard time finding any used ones for sale. I've tried autotrader.com, vehix.com, and carsoup.com. Anywhere else I should try?

HEY! I like my car! I haven't had a single problem with it, and it's got more HP and better handling than any other car I've driven!

I completely agree about the E36 M3, it is a great recommendation, and I would LOVE one. Plenty fast, great handling. Awesome daily driver, supurb weekend track car. I just didn't feel it was something the OP was looking for.

Agreed on the 3000GT btw. Aside from the VR-4, they are like a heavy FWD Mitsubishi Camaro :p. Depending on the year, they look nice.

Cars Direct

Hey, if you like your car, more power to ya. I've driven several SLs and I just *hate* the way they drive.

Do you have a local dealership?
take a tour down and check out their used cars if they have any.
I doubt there will be more than 10 used Scion tC's in all of the United States due to how long they have been out. and they are pretty popular.

I bought an AT Scion tC. Pure pwn4g3. 160HP/160feet-lb/torque for a 3000lb car. This is pwns, especially with its standard features.

Yes, it is pretty damn fast alright, for a $17500 car. You can go MT to save $1000.

I got an AT because I live in LA. I go through some horrible traffic, so shifting the gears up and down is pretty annoying at times. (86' MT Celica GT) ;)
Of course, if you want, there are turbo kits out for the tC already. Stage 1 - Stage 3 turbo kits, with prices ranging from 3500-6000. If you go turbo, remember to get an intercooler. ;)

OH YEAH, the one bad thing is that there seems to be a long queue for buyers wanting to buy a tC. Reason why is because everything is manufacturered in Japan and dealers only order so many at once. Most people wait for their color to come in, which takes anywhere from 1-4 weeks. But if you're lucky like me, you can get one out the door as soon as you've test driven it ;p.
Mine is Black Cherry Pearl and looks great... :D
TRD springs, shocks, sway + strut bar = suspension upgrade, but the thing handles beautifully already for its price.

Chrono did you get any accessories? I'm thinking about getting the pillar spoiler and *maybe* the blue LED upgrades.
