YACT: Where is my car's thermostat?

I've been looking for it under two hoses, it doesn't seem to be inside. I've checked the top hose where it goes into the engine, and taken off the housing piece. It was definitely not side of there. The other hose seems to lead into the transmission. I've swapped the hose off of that before, and didn't notice anything inside there, but it's possible that it could be in there.
So does anyone know where the thermostat would be?

There should be a large hose that leads from the engine block to the top of the radiator. This hose is clamped to some kind of fitting that's probably removable, and the thermostat is inside or under that fitting. Any info that's more specific to your car I can't give, sorry.

Yeah, mine is under the main hose...

Yeah that's what I did. I took off the fitting that the hose is clamped onto, and it was just a hole. I stuck my finger in there to feel the inside of it, and there was nothing there.

It should be in the top hose where it attaches to the engine. Maybe a prior owner removed the thermostat and never replaced it, explaining why you can't seem to find it?

That's what I was thinking.

I'd suggest you buy a repair manual though. Haynes are decent and not very expensive. It will show in there where to find the thermostat.

On a 92' corolla the thermostat is on the lower radiator hose. (unlike most cars)
Just follow the lower hose to the engine block, and remove the two 10mm bolts holding the fitting onto the engine block.

Thanks, I figured that out kinda.
It's really hard to take that off though. Really cramped there.
So you know it's 10mm?
