looking to have a local shop do a 60K service on an 01 neon se.... i supposed retail quart price of the transmission fluid is cheaper than getting it from a dealer.

how many quarts does it take for a flush and what retail stores can i buy it?

*Note: after Sept. 2005 Chrylser licensed their ATF to retail stores.

also, is the drivebelt, fuel filter, and ignition/spark plug wires part of the 60k service?
manual says they are to be replaced at 60k, but a dealer says those are additions...

I know Amsoil makes some, you might see if you can pick that up locally.

Usually 1 quart is all you need. I would never buy whatever fluid Chrysler uses. Get Amsoil or Red Line. Only use the best for your car.

last year when I went looking it could only be found at the dealer. $4.50 per quart. I complained, they shrugged.

Advance Auto Parts and probably Autozone sell Valvoline ATF+4

ATF+4 is synthetic, so don't expect it to be as cheap as the older ATFs
