So did you buy the car from somone in Texas and have it shipped to Florida, or did you buy it at an auction in FL?

Maybe I don't know those motors too well, but shouldn't the PCV valve be hooked up to something?

You're so full of sh!t I can't believe it. Swapping engines on that car would make the value of it decrease immensely. Besides, I don't believe your stupid story anyway.

I'm now awaiting you to pull the racist card. God, you're worse that Gerboy.

I don't know what this thing is, but it's not a real Cobra. The wheels, exhaust and dash are incorrect.

The most telling is the VIN that's held on with screws. WTF is up with that? An original was held on with rivets. That tells an awful lot about whoever "restored" this thing. If they're willing to overlook details, there's a lot of rust in the rockers and quarter panels that's hidden by bondo. This is the kind of car that gets put on the front line of classic car dealers. It's a 50 footer. It looks great from 50 feet, but when you look close, it's a real POS.

I'm not even going to talk about the boy racer go fast goodies like the billett radiator cap. Another kiddie just got taken at the auction by a new paint job and bought himself a bondo bucket.

I agree and disagree. I agree that I don't like him either, but the car is not that nice when you look at it closely. It's a generic '67 fastback but it's been crapped up with a lot of bling. Not really that much different that a riced out Neon.

Not that I even believe his story to begin with.

Except that at the end of the day, it's still a '67 Fastback, and the Neon is still a Neon :p

'67 mustangs were not that spectacular or rare.

In order to be a collector car the vehicle has to be both desirable and rare. This car is not particularly desirable because it's been poorly and cheaply restored. It's certainly not rare by any stretch of the imagination, just go to WV and you'll see tons of them up on blocks.

p.s., the floors, inner quarter panels and rocker panels were notorious for rusting out. I'd love to see a picture of the floor on this car with the carpet taken out or of the inner lower part of the quarter panel. How much do you want to bet that PAB never even looked if he does truly own this POS? He never got past the Autozone engine compartment!

BTW, paint code "M" is for Wimbledon White, not Earl Scheib Silver. The paint code is on the VIN plate that is held on with two different size screws!

Rust is not racist!

I don't think so. Not only was this car white (by the way, you can see the white under the silver in the VIN picture where the paint is chipped.

The car was built on February 10th, 1967 and was ordered from the Atlanta district. It had a standard C4 automatic transmission with a 3.00 rear end, so it was NOT a performance car.

WTF did the high back seats come from? Those weren't stock in 1967 either. The VIN states this car was built with black vinyl bucket seats. Those seats look like 1970 high back seats by their shape, but it's difficult to tell. Not any high end stuff here.

Don't believe me PAB? Decode it yourself and weep: Classic Mustang VIN decoder

Oh yeah, nice aftermarket AC too.

Did you notice the aftermarket AC? LOL!

I've been in the auto repair business for over 30 years. I've seen more than my share of bondo buckets that the owner's are convinced are worth a mint. Luckily, I had enough respect for them to not point out all the faults in their cars that would make a true collector run away laughing.

I've had my share of classic cars. One thing that is true among old cars is that if you want to drive one, you have to own at least two. Don't ever rely on these cars without a trunk full of spare parts, a tool kit, and a cell phone.

I never said it was, the former owner just put valvecovers and stuff on to dress it up. That and the paint jub that was done by two romanians and a hammer isnt that great. I'm told they were in such a hurry to paint the damn thing and show it off they didnt bother with pop rivets.

I'm well aware of the fact that the seats are wrong, the dash needs a clock in it, and the former owner was a total idiot. I know the car was white, a 289 2bbl and a generic fastback.

I had plans for a 390, but I'm putting that on hold in favor of something bigger. And I dont care that its not original because someone's bound to give me a bunch of money for it in a year when I'm done with it/

Edit: Whats so wrong about buying it on an open title? Oh, like thats not enough to satistfy some of you pricks.

I found it hilarious because you were bragging about how much money you spent on it. It's nothing special and you'll sink at least $5,0000 or more in that POS to make it worth anything. Then what will you have? A 1967 Mustang that doesn't have any kind of decent pedigree. To have something valuable it had to be optioned correctly, and this one wasn't. Please tell us what you paid for it along with a receipt showing how much it was to prove it. I'll be anything you way overpaid for this thing. Your eyes popped out of your head just like it did with so many people in this thread that were drooling over this car.

Have you checked for rust on the rockers, floors, and quarters? Have you located the correct parts? Who's going to do the work on it? Are you going to go with reproduction parts or NOS? Are you going to have the car stripped down to the metal to have it repainted correctly? Is your intention to make this car a true restoration project? If so, you better have $10,000 or more tucked away. If you're going to swap out engines, you're going to lose even more money because you'll actually detract from the value of the car and the people who will pay the big bucks for it REALLY won't want anything to do with it.

Old cars are usually always a losing proposition unless you going to keep them for a while, much like a house, unless you bought it cheap. If you got it cheap, it's probably because the car is a real POS that has many more sins hidden by that Earl Scheib paint job that you can see right now.

Because you act like a total dick David? Comments like "Oh, if you ask how much it was; you can't afford it" won't get you anywhere.

We all know you got a great deal on it and this is your way of rubbing it in. Conduct yourself in a better manner and you'll get some respect around here. Until then, line up for the punches.
