YACT: What to do about little chips in paint?

SunnyD

Belgian Waffler
Car is 6 months old and I already have several chips in the paint, mostly on the front of the hood. I think there's 5 or 6 small chips, like 1/8" in size or less. What can I do other than taking the car to get it repainted? If anything.

dont they make touch up paint for that?
i have a lot of little chips in the front of my car,
my GFs dad explained the process but i didnt really listen all that well
i know he mentioned touch up paint, though.

Paint chips on the hood are a fact of life. I say just let them be. Otherwise use touch up paint.. to do it right you'll have to use a toothpick to slowly fill the chip, in layers, to above the level of the rest of the car paint. Then sand down with some sandpaper on the eraser of a pencil. Then rubbing compound to smooth out the finish. Then repeat it again in 2 days after you collect your next rock chip.

Options? Ugly leather car bra, expensive 3M clear bra.
