how much the brade kit upgrade alone cost you?

the brake kit was upgrading to a later model('96+) SHO brakes, and for the parts and labor was about $700

Oh, and tint is not a mod. Sorry.

i believe mod is short for modification, which tint would be a modification, as much as the other people that have listed "painted calipers", a new shift knob, or new pedals. i'm sorry if you've been offend by its listing, i can remove it if you'd like.

and yes thank you, my car is a ford taurus. but as many people with say a GTI, just call their car a GTI instead of a Volkswagen Golf GTI. it is not uncommon for ford taurus SHO owners to just call the car a SHO , because well at least for the SHO it is a completely different car than just a regular taurus, believe me cause i've had the unfortunate experience of having them both.

I have had tint on every car I've owned. It's like putting seatcovers on your seats. Or a bra on the front. I don't consider tint a mod. Sorry.

SHO=Hopped up Ford Taurus just like Cobra=Hopped up Ford Mustang. Don't get me wrong, the SHO is a nice car with a sweet engine but it always cracks me up with I hear owners call it a sho (as in show).

I don't care what VW owners do. They are idiots for buying a VW in the first place. My wife owned a Golf, it was a miserable little car.

just for you i've editted out the tint, since i see you are disturbed by its listing.

i'm sure most cobra owners also call their car a cobra, though it is still a ford mustang. i'm glad i was able to give you a little giggle, and i've never called my car a "show," though i do call it an "S" "H" "O"

Putting a cushion in your car is not a mod, but i consider tinting a mod, just ask the cops. Not sure if "SHO" is appropriate, but I just call my car "STI" too. but i'm not familiar with SHO so actually i didn't know it was a Taurus before. is it like a SVT version?

My car is not "rice", LOL.

I would bet its older than 70% of ATOT users. :)
I added a low mileage 318 with the following mods:

camshaft - camdynamics 272 h10 - 272 degrees and .454 lift
doubleroller timing chain
edelbrock intake
600 cfm edelbrock carb
electronic ignition - recurved and chrome box
dual exhuast - fairly loud

modded 998 auto tranny with TransGo stage2 shift kit.

modded suspension
15 x 7 police rims 245 60 15 in the back and 215 65 15 up front.

when it was made, originally came out in '89, there was no SVT so its not really a SVT car. its simply a ford taurus with a yahama v6(220hp) and optional manual along with suspension modifications. they are cheap fun cars, and i've had a couple. unfortunately they are also money pits, so i'm looking to get a newer car now.

in '96 they came out with a new version that neither had a manual or a v6, but an auto and a v8(235hp), but IMHO they are quite ugly cars and are slower than the other SHOs so they don't have much going for them, other than a v8 exhaust sound.

NO SPEEDING TICKETS! All the local cops know me, and I get stopped periodically because they want to talk cars.
11.88 ET in street trim, 130+ mph. About 8 mpg city, 12-14 highway. Tops speed faster than I want to drive on public roadway (140 speedo, will spin it around)
Orig ac/ pw/l car, and it all works. I just love it when the rice burners pull up alongside with some wild-eyed teen behind the wheel revvin up the sewing machine.
Will chirp the tires even idling, and into 3rd/OD. Also lifts the L front wheell on a clean launch. Wife loves to drive it and she does it with such style, all the boys want to run her.....

no rice here, move along!

I have a dodge D100 pickup from 1974.... so far I've installed an Edelbrock Streetmaster 318 intake (don't get this, it blows). Added on a 650 CFM vac-secondary Holley 4160 carb. Double roller timing set. Next up is a paint job to finish external restoration. Then its time for a 440....

I'm going to post a little video soon of a smoking quarter mile launch,
the sound of it just idling like a 3 legged horse on cobblestone street is enough to bring the average gear head to his knees with whiplash to boot!
When i took my dad for a ride, he was white nuckled and trembling for half an hour after!
If I dont ease the loud pedal, it will smoke the tires all the way down the strip, gotta hang on and row cuz it gets squirelly!

My next project is a full on tubbed 67 elcamino that should put this car to shame...motor in that one was balanced and built to sustain 8500 rpm reliably.
Can't wait to finish, it has that incredible WOT WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
and definitely pulls some serious G's. Have already broken the front springs twice from hookin' too hard and launching the front too high, and its only primered and maybe 80% complete. All throttle, no bottle. But it does pack a centrifugal supercharger.....

914: 911 front hubs, spindles, shocks, springs and brakes. Forged Fuchs wheels with much wider than stock tires. Rolled fenders. Thicker torsion bars. Lightweight fiberglass racing seats. Re-built semi-race engine.

951: Chip, 3.0 bar fuel pressure regulator, 15 PSI mechanical boost controller, aftermarket boost guage to monitor the boost controller.

Mustang: Nothing yet. Am considering a mild chip just to give a little more throttle response from the electronic throttles; they don't snap shut like older mechanical throttles do which can upset the smoothness of quick shifts.

1997 Subaru Legacy GT Wagon

KYB GR-2 Struts ('cuz with 205K miles, the originals were a little worn)
PowerSlot Rotors, Hawk HPS Pads, Stainless Steel brake hoses (Got a good deal on the package, figured why not)
High end Pioneer CD/MP3 (forget model #, MSRP $500), 10" Alpine Type R sub, Alpine Type R components up front/coax in back, 4 channel amp on the speakers, mono amp on sub

Maybe some Whiteline springs soon, drop it <1"; dunno if its worth the hassle

And that's about it. It handles like a dream now (as much as a wagon can :p) and stops on a dime. With a 205K mile engine, no point in doing power mods. Just waiting for a new car :)
