I need to replace my front and rear 6.75" speakers in the 97 I30.

Looking on ebay, there are cheap pairs of Alpine, Clarion, Pioneer, Kenwood, JVC, Sony, Infinityy, off brand, etc... speakers for about $50-75 per pair, shipped and they all have roughly the same stats, with some slight differences:

* Pretty much all have right around 90 db of "efficiency" (decibals is how loud they are, right?)
* They all have from 30 to 50 watts RMS, 150-220 watts peak
* They have sound ranges from about 28hz ~ 40k hz

Some of the speakers stop at 20k hz, some stop at around 30k hz, and the only pair to hit 40k hz are Kenwood eXcelons. Can the human ear hear 40k hz?

Anyway, just curious about which brands are recommended, and if there are any special stats I should be looking for. Based on specs alone, Kenwood eXcelons were the best, they have 93 decibal efficiency, 28hz - 40khz range, and 50W RMS.... my budget is under $70 per pair... I need two pairs of 6.5" speakers.

Please advise.

I have Pioneer 6x9's in my car and people are constantly mistaking them for 10" subs. They are great.
