YACT: What is the difference between Moon roof and sun roof?

I think the general opinion is that moon roof is made of see-thru glass, whereas sunroof was solid sliding metal. These days most movable roofs are made of glass.

Yeah. This has never been asked before. nevar evar

That helped.

Yours didn't help either 😛

Hah, but umm, i thought the moonroof was the "unopened" version of the sunroof, where you can see through the glass. If you have glass up top, that is. 😕

Isn't that backwards? I thought a moon roof retracted and a sun roof just popped up.

The design of the roof allows for moonroofs to tilt and/or slide. The names are interchangeable in conventional automotive marketing.

Right, so in reality, there is no difference.
