For the money ($20k - $24k), this is about the best-looking car out there from what I can tell. I absolutely refuse to waste money on an American P.O.S. again, so that's out. German engineering is alright, but if anything DOES go wrong, it will cost me an arm and a leg to fix it. Soooo...

Is there something I'm missing? Looks like my options are:

- Nissan Altima
- Nissan Sentra
- Honda Accord
- Honda Civic
- Toyota Camry
- Toyota Solara
- Subaru Impreza
- Subaru Legacy

Toyota Camry - Console
Toyota Camry - Front
Toyota Camry - Rear

Edit: Whoops, missed the Altima.

Edit 2: People, Mazda = Ford. Period. I'm not getting one.

You can get a Nissan Altima for that price. My vote goes for that. But since the Altima is not a choice in the poll, I guess I would have to go with the Camry.

Good catch, I can't believe I missed that. I added that.

I think they are the best looking camrys to date, but after a year or so, the looks will start to become less intriguing. Wait until the new accords come out, because I think they will make the new camry look somewhat bland in comparison.

Legacy GT's look great IMHO, but you'd have trouble touching them at $24k. I personally think the Mazda 6 and Ford Fusion(face lifted MZ6) are better looking cars than the Camry, but they are smaller, slower, and get poorer economy than the V6 Camry's. Sportier rides than the Camry though for what that's worth.

I guess you're not considering Korean cars? You should at least test drive a Sonata, or maybe an Azera. Great cars for the money. You can get a top of the line Sonata for lower than the prices you'll pay for a base Camry. See my sig for many pics.

Don't get too excited about a Camry V6 in that price range -- you're definitely limited to the 4. The most disappointing thing I discovered in looking at the new Camry was that the (more desirable) SE model didn't have flip-down rear seats; a brace was added that got in the way. Very lame.

As at least on poster mentiioned, you might also include Mazda on your list. I've driven the Mazda3 and read reviews on it and am quite impressed (just be sure to get the side-curtain air bags!!). Reviews for the Mazda6 haven't been as good, but still worth a look. ivol07 had a good point about looking at the Korean cars as well. At least consider the Hyundai Sonata. One car that always be included with the Subaru Impreza is the Saab 9-2x. They're essentially the same car (both made at the same factory) but the Saab has a slightly different exterior/interior and options package. Of course if good gas mileage is more important to you than AWD, forget the Subarus (and Saab).

I like the Legacy GT, but it's probably not in your price range. The Camry is still a good choice though

The new Camry's look nicer than the current accords. Those would be my top two choices in that market segment.

They look alright, but not great. The Azera is a pretty sharp-looking car, but too pricey.
