So they got the Evo VIII for the states now but I really can't and don't want to shell out 30k for a car. What do you guys think of a plot for getting one say used in a 1-2 from now? How much do you think one would be?
 
Not much lower in price and probably thrashed to hell by the previous owner.

In all seriousness, it might drop 10%-20% in price because of desireability and limited production.

Driving a 250+HP four banger hard for two years = many potential problems + massive depreciation.

You have to decide if the former is covered by the latter.
 
I would get a used one in 1-2 years, but only if I had enough money in cash to replace the engine and tranny, because these aren't your grand parents who buy the cars. They're young males probably 95%+ of the cases.
 
I don't think of it as a plot, but more like a plan. Start watching the car you want in the used car ads and online markets. Learn what their value is and be prepared when a good deal comes along.
