YACT: What causing my fan/AC problems?

Lucky

Lately the volume of air coming out of my vents seems to be steadily decreasing. On full blast in my 92 civic, with all four front vents open, it barely feels like there is any air coming out at all. To get any appreciable feeling of a breeze I have to only keep the center two vents open, and that still doesn't feel like much of a breeze. Does this mean my blower motor needs to be changed or could something else be doing this?

Also, the air doesnt seem to be as cold as it once was. Does that mean my compressor needs to be replaced or just recharged or what?

Thanks.

so, its possible for the blower to be somewhere in the middle of "failed completely" and "working good"?
Sure. If a bearing or a brush went out it can still work for a while. If the air isn't as cold though something else may be wrong. If the evaporator coils are icing up, that may explain the lower air flow too. It's hard to accurately say what's wrong without more info.

I would guess somewhere around $50-100. Just depends on how deep they have to tear into things to find the problem. A good shop should apply the cost of the diagnosis toward the repairs if you have them fix it.
